The top modern live venue is now functioning in the center of Athens, at 205 Liosion Street. Bearing capacity of 1300 standing and 600 seated, GAGARIN 205 Live Music Space is a unique cultural space, designed to host concerts, theatre shows, screenings, special events and happenings of the highest standards. 2002 – 2004… Two Years of Success! Opening on September 27th, 2002, and featuring the first appearance of Barry Adamson στην Ελλάδα, Gagarin 205 Live Music Space has already celebrated two years of life in music entertainment which – according to the majority of the press, it ruled to the full extend, both artistically and functionally. The venue has hosted important names of the international music scene as well as our own local artists, in fluently executed productions, while sound and air – conditioning standards met public and media expectations to the full, urging them to welcome this new multi –venue with striking compliments. Who stands behind GAGARIN 205 Live Music Space? The company ASTRA SHOW VISION AND SOUND, with its multiple activities in concerts, theatre and film making. To be precise: Vasilis Triantafyllidis or better known as Harry Klynn, president of the company. Naturally, an introduction would be unnecessary. Internationally awarded director Nikos Triantafyllidis, the artistic director of ASTRA. Their long experience in show business both in a personal as well as company level, is undeniably acclaimed. ASTRA is recognised throughout our music industry as the most powerful name in international bookings in Greece, while theatre and film industry also had a chance to realise its potential, through the Harry Klynn shows and the prize wining films of Nikos Triantafyllidis (“Radio Moscow”, “The Coat”, “Black Milk”, “Screamin’ Jay Hawkins – I put a spell on me” etc.). The range of artists hosted by ASTRA to this point, covers a wide target group. From electronica and brit pop to new psychedelic, trip-hop and new garage, from technorock and hard rock to blues and ethnic, greek rock and sophisticated greek electric scene.
